Benjamin Davis Dies Sunday in Niles Hospital

BUCHANAN, June 24 - Benjamin F. Davis, 89, of 402 Berrien St., died Sunday at 8:45 p.m. in Pawating Hospital, Niles, after an illness of several days. Death resulted from pneumonia.

The son of Charles and Susan Davis, he was born Sep 22, 1857 in Norwalk, O., and had lived in Buchanan for more than 60 years. He had been employed at the Clark Equipment company for many years, prior to his retirement.

He was married to Miss Josie Snell in Buchanan, on Nov. 22, 1885.

Survivors include his widow; on son, Robert A. Davis, Berrien Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Bess Reinke, Buchanan; one brother, Elmer C. Davis, Marcellus; on sister Mrs. Mary Marsh, Vicksburg, Mich.; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren

The funeral will take place Tuesday at 2p.m. in the Swem Funeral home with the Rev. William Y. Pohly officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis.
