Buel Ross Baker

 

Buel Ross "Tuffy" Baker, a Livingston County native, died Thursday Dec. 14, 1989, at Hedrick Medical Center.  Mr. Baker, who had lived on RFD 5, was 65. 

 

He was born March 6, 1924 to W. E. and Pearl Williams Baker. His father survives of Chillicothe.

 

Mr. Baker attended school in Livingston County and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.  He was married in Chillicothe April 9, 1949 to Josephine Burton. She survives of the home.

 

He retired March 6, from Cooke Sales and Service after a 41 year career as a fuel pump injection mechanic.  He was a member of the American Legion and the Calvary Baptist Church.

 

Also surviving are a daughter, Brenda Block of Chillicothe; three sons, David, Leland and Chris Baker, all of Chillicothe; who sisters; Betty O'Dell of Chillicothe and Vivian Bryson of Bella Vista Ark.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

His mother and a brother, Milford, also preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Chuck Greever and assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Ellis. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with a military services to be conducted by American Legion Post No. 25.

 

Persons may call until 8 p.m. today (Friday) or until services Saturday at the Norman -Wagy-Singer-Gordon Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Post No. 25 which may be left at the funeral home.
