Nathan L. “Butch” Baker

 

Nathan L. “Butch” Baker, 60, of Chillicothe, Mo., died on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at his home, under the care of his family and Regional Care Hospice of Gallatin, Mo.

 

He was born on May 12, 1947, in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of Everett Nathan “E. N.” Baker and Helen Mae Ralls Baker.

 

He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School.

 

On Jan. 15, 1965, he married Janet K. Looney in Chillicothe, Mo. She survives of the home.

 

For many  years Butch owned and operated Baker’s Garage in Chillicothe, Mo.

 

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Mo.

 

Butch enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, woodworking, going to auctions and especially spending time with his family.

 

Other survivors include two daughters, May Ann Slattery and husband, Sam, of Chillicothe, Mo., Lori Lynn Ashford and husband, Jeff, of Chillicothe, Mo., five granddaughters; Jessica Jacobs, Amanda Slattery, Alisha Ashford, Devinn Ashford and Caela Ashford; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Jacobs, Rachel Jacobs, Trent Jacobs, Tristan Slattery, and Rebecca Slattery; three brothers, Everett Baker and wife, Randa, of Macon, Mo., Lewis Baker and Steve Baker, both of Chillicothe.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.

 

Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Utica Cemetery, Utica, Mo.

 

There was a cremation.

 

Family visitations will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007, at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

 

In lieu of flowers or food, memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan L. “Butch” Baker Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
