Weitzel, Daniel 1876-1957

Daniel W. Weitzel, 80 of 1234 Green St. died yesterday afternoon in the Tipton residence of his daughter, Florence, wife of Leroy Tobias, after an illness of two months duration.

Born in Sinking Springs, a son of Franklin and Mary (Englehardt) Weitzel, he was a retired employee of the Reading Co.

Mr. Weitzel was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Chruch and of Juanita Tribe Improved Order of Red Men, and a life member of the Rainbow Fire Company.

In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his widow, Katherine R. (Scheidt) Weitzel, a son, LeRoy T, of Reading and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Also, three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Scott and Mrs. Mae Kennedy, both of Miami Beach Fla., and Mrs. Huron Huyett, Reading.

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Long Funeral Home, Oley. The Rev. Frank A. Rosenberger and the Rev. Earl G. Walford officiating. Burial will be in Friedens Church Cemetery
