Dicy Weitzel, age 87, of Chillicothe, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Dicy Mae, daughter of Joshua Sheldon and Bertha Ann (Ash) Swihart was born November 4, 1913 in Seneca.

In March of 1930, she married William Howard Weitzel who preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Weitzel was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy and Marshall Cordray of Brookfield, Frances and Daniel Coberley of Chula and Gladys Fisher of Chillicothe, 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; on brother and sister-in-law, Cletus and Frances Swihart of St. Joseph; and five sisters and a brother-in-law, Zane Price of St. Joseph, Retha Logan of Bull Head City Arizona, LeVeta and Davis Essig of Excelsior Springs, Ruby Logan of Noble, Oklahoma and Ruth Adamczyk of Chillicothe; one sister-in-law, Theresa Swihart of Chillicothe; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sons, two daughters, two grandsons, and one great-grandson, two sisters and one brother.
