Ernie A. Baker  Obituary

 

Ernie Albert Baker, Utica resident, died Friday near Chillicothe. He was 66.

 

Mr. Baker, a life long resident of Livingston County was born March 1, 1916, a son of William V. and Ida M. Swihart Baker.  He attended school here and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  For 15 years, he had been employed by a paving company in Rockford, Ill.

 

Survivors are a son, Leroy Baker, state of Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Lendy Basford, Pawnee, Ill., and Penni Johnson, Longmont Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Bennett, Topeka, Kan., and Miss Alice L. Baker, Kansas City, and five brothers, William E. Baker, Everett M. Baker, and Loyd Baker all of Chillicothe; Vernon Baker, Utica, and Leon Baker, state of Colorado.

 

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m today at the chapel of the Lindley Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Griffith officiating.  Organ selections were played.

 

Burial was in the Utica cemetery.  Pallbearers were Donald O'Dell, Chris Baker, David Baker, Lewis Baker, Steve Baker and Everett Baker.
