this city, on the 16th inst. John E. Weitzel, aged 49 years, 10 months and 21
days. Burial in Sinking Spring Cemetery.

John E.
Weitzel, died of a complication of diseases at 4:30 a.m. today, at his
residence, 33 Thorn street, aged 49 years. Deceased was ailing for the last
three months. He was born in Sinking Spring and was the son of the Franklin and
the late Mary (nee Engelhart) Weitzel. He resided in this city for the last 27
years and was employed by Charles Haas and Co., expressmen. Deceased was a
member of the Holiness Christian Association, Juniata Tribe, No 74. I.O.R.M.,
and Meade Camp No. 16, Sons of Veterans. Besides his father, he is survived by
his widow, Mary G. (nee Moyer), and five children, Harvey, Charles, Horace,
Paul and Mrs. Percy Walley, all of this city, and these brothers and sisters;
Mrs. Harry Sterrett, Reading; William, Honeybrook; Mrs. Huron Huyett, Reading;
Mrs. Catherine Miller, Philadelphia; Daniel, Reading; and Mrs. J.S. Evans,
Philadelphia. There also remain two grandchildren.
