Leroy Brasfield, 64, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005, at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, MO. A visitation will be held Monday, July 11, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the International Myeloma Foundation or the tribe of the Mic-O-Say, in care of the funeral home.
Leroy was born August 12, 1940 in Fountain Grove, MO the son of Leroy and Lora (Swihart) Brasfield. He married Marian E. McCausland, November 26, 1959 in Kansas City MO. Leroy retired in 1992 from General Motors after 30 years with the company. He was leader of Boy Scout Troop 304 and the tribe of Mic-O-Say. Leroy enjoyed square dancing, camping, golf and blue grass music.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marian; son Kevin Brasfield; grandson Leroy Brasfield; grand-daughter Lora Brasfield; sister, Lolo Griffey; and several nieces and nephews.
