Will of
Sophia Heck
In the name of God Amen I, Sophia Heck, of
the Village of Sinking Spring, in the County of Berks and State of
Pennsylvania, Being in ill health of body but of sound mind and memory and
understanding, do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and Testament
in manner following. That is to say, I,
order that all my just debts, funeral expenses, and charges of proving, this my
will, be in the first place fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof
and every part thereof Then I give and bequeath unto my children, Mary Meade,
William Weitzel, Catherine Steely and John Weitzel, all my estate both real and
personal. After all above mentioned expenses of funeral and care paid and one
hundred dollars shall also be paid to my daughter Mary Meade for extra services
performed by her for me and my son Franklin Weitzel shall have five dollars and
when the sums mentioned are deducted
that is to say , the above expenses and Mary's one hundred dollars and Franklin's
five dollars then the balance shall be divided in equal shares among said Mary
Meade, William Weitzel, Catherine Steely and John Weitzel. Said Franklin shall
have no further claim. And my clothing I give to my two daughters Mary and
Catherine in equal shares and my bed clothes shall be divided amongst my
daughters Mary and Catherine and my sons William and John in equal parts or
shares and I order that a tomb stone shall be placed on my grave becoming my
estate and no unnecessary expenses concerning funeral.
And I do hereby nominate constitute and
appoint my daughter Mary Meade, Executrix of this my last will duly revoking
and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare
this to be my last will and testament.

Sophia Yeager was born Feb 14, 1813
Pennsylvania and was married May 24, 1831 in Berks County to William Weitzel, son of Christian and
Catherine Weitzel. William died between 1850 and 1860 in Berks County
Pennsylvania. Sophia married second
George Heck. Sophia died July 13, 1894 and was buried in Sinking Spring
Cemetery, Berks County Pennsylvania.
