Wayne E. Swihart Obituary

 

Wayne E. Swihart, 68, of 3509 Crackerneck, Independence, died Sunday at Research Medical Center.  He was born in Birmingham in Clay County and had lived in Jackson County mot of his life.  He had worked 15 years as a crane operator for A. C. Reinking and later worked for the Jackson County Highway Department before he retired in 1972.  He served on the Pleasant Grove and Blue Springs school boards in the 1940's and 1950;s.  He was a member of the 39th Street Improvement Association.  He was an Army Veteran of World War II.  He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Swihart of the home and three brothers; Sheldon Swihart and Fred Swihart of Independence, and Elliot Swihart of Grain Valley.  Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Independence Chapel; burial in the Blue Springs Cemetery.  Friends may call 7 to 8:30 today at the Chapel.
