William Valentine Baker, 75, a retired farmer, died at 10:50 o'clock last night at his home, 203 East Second St. Born September 6, 1872, son of Michael and Unavesta A. Baker, he came to Jimtown at the age of 15. On December 5, 1894 he married Ida Mae Swihart at Chillicothe. She survives him. Also surviving him are ten children, W. E. Baker, Utica; Goldie J. Bennett, Topeka, Kans.; Loyd M. Baker, Chillicothe, Elmer K. Baker, Larned, Kans., Vernon Baker, Chillicothe; Erma Folk, Polo, Ill., Nathan Baker, Chillicothe, Ernie Baker, Polo, Ill., Leon L. Baker, Lupton, Colo., and Alice Baker, Kansas City, one brother, Lewis Baker, Triplett; two sisters; Mrs. Letta Todd, Kansas City, Mrs. Bessie Mae Key, Norborne; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Utica Cemetery. Chillicothe Constitution Sep 20 1951
