Died, October 29, 1873, at his residence in Niles Township, David C. Batchelor, aged 42 years, 5 months and 27 days.

Dearest husband, thou has left us,

Here thy loss we deeply feel;

But 'tis God that has befeft us-

He can our sorrows heal.

But, again we hope to meet thee,

When the day of life is fled;

And in heaven with joy to greet thee,

Where no farewell tears are shed.
