Elliott C. Swihart Obituary

 

Elliott C. Swihart, 82, Blue Springs, a former machinery dealership owner, died July 25, 1987, at Independence Regional Health Center

 

Mr. Swihart owned Minneapolis-Moline Machinery Sales in Kansas City, Kan., until he retired in 1969.  He also worked at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.  He was a member and past master of the Grain Valley Masonic Lodge and past patron of the Blue Springs chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.  He was a member of the Blue Springs Shrine Club, the York Rite Masonry and the Ararat Shrine.

 

Mr. Swihart was a member of the Grain Valley Christian Church in Jackson County.  He was born in Wheeling, Mo., and lived in this area most of his life.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Swihart of the home; a son, Glen Ray Swihart, Osage Beach Mo.; a stepson, James Gregory McGuire, Blue Springs, two grandsons; five stepgrandchildren; and step great-grandchildren.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church; burial in the Buckner Cemetery.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Webb-Freer Chapel, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m..
