H. Weitzel, age 34, was crushed to death in a highway accident in Perry County
on Monday.
Weitzel
was employed by J. Herbert Ewell, Narvon, R.2, for
eight or nine years as a truck operator.
A spokesman for the firm said he had left Lancaster County on Sunday for
Puxantawney with a truck load of motor oil and was enroute home with an empty truck when it was struck head on
by a west bound truck, that first sideswiped another rig.
Born
in Honey Brook Township, a son of the late William and Ida Fillman Weitzel, he
was a resident of this area until seven years ago when he moved to East Earl.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Church Hill.
Surviving
are his wife, (living individuals, omitted due to privacy) Also these brothers
and sisters; William, Chillicothe, Mo.; Mae, wife of Roy Bolich, and Martha,
wife of Merlo Paup, both of Pottstown; John, Oneonta, N. Y.; Robert, Honey
Brook, and Thomas, Manheim.
Funeral
services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 p.m. from the Maclean Funeral Home, Pequea Avenue, Honey Brook.
Internment will be in St. Mark’s Episcopal cemetery.
