J. S. Swihart of Fountain Grove Dies – Funeral Services will be Monday at Meadville – Joshua S. Swihart, 79, Fountain Grove, died after midnight this morning at the Chillicothe Hospital, where he had been a patient three weeks. Mrs. Swihart was born Sep 24 1883 near Wheeling, son of Martin and Sarah Davis Swihart. On Aug 19 1917 he married Bertha Ash. Other survivors in addition to his wife are 10 children. Mrs. W. M. Weitzel, Chillicothe, Mrs. Junior Price, Excelsior Springs; Mrs. Ruth Adamcyzk, Chicago; Mrs. Amos Logan, Noble Okla.; Mrs. John Price, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Lloyd Wallace, Ft. Leonard Wood; Mrs. Judge Logan, Meadville; Mrs. Delbert Jennings, Chillicothe, Loren A. Swihart, Chicago, and Cletus Swihart, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Tarboss, Cassopolis Mich., and Mrs. Ella Reeves, Chillicothe; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, a sister, and his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Meadville Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Meadville Cemetery. The body will be in state at the Wright Funeral Home in Meadville. Chillicothe Constitution Tribune Dec 15,1962
